Outside of Eden
I read these
three words today and something went tilt in my heart.
We live outside of Eden.
We live outside of Eden.
It’s been this
way almost since the beginning of time.
But not quite.
But not quite.
For once there
was an Eden.
One man, one
woman and one God walked together, talked together, loved together.
But now we all
live outside of Eden.
We still yearn
for Eden living, for relationships that value and build into each other and
find their true source in God. For
divine purpose and authenticity. But
outside the garden we are. Outside is where our lives are played out.
And here where
we live and love and work, there is ebola and jealousy and inequity. Babies die, and moms get sick, and nations
rage war against nation, peoples holding others in contempt.
Quite simply,
we live outside of Eden. All
that Eden was, is no more.
But does your
heart not ring with that echo of Eden?
That hope that one day the wrongs will be righted, God will be God and
we will return once and for all to the Eden that we were made for?
Thanks Brenda - great reminder
